Sexual Predators living in our neighborhoods

admin April 18th, 2010

On Friday, April 16th, ABC’s 20/20 News aired a program about little 7 year old Somer Thompson’s abduction and  murder. Fortunately, the man responsible was found and charged with her death. This man was a neighbor and a sexual predator. What also shocked the residents of this neighborhood was the number of sex offender’s living in their area. 162 registered sex offenders lived just within a 5 mile radius from Somer Thompson!

At Family watchdog web site, parent’s can check their neighborhoods to find out if there are any sex offender’s living and working near their homes and schools. Just insert your zip code or state to see where these registered offender’s live, work, and the crimes they have committed. Child Lures Prevention can provide you with information on how to help protect and educate your children.

The more informed we are regarding our neighborhoods the more safe our children will be. It is up to us to protect and educte them.
